R.I.P. Papyrus (1983 - 2015)

Papyrus was an underground hip-hop M.C. and recording artist from Central Valley California. The youngest of 3 brothers, he was born on August 28, 1983 in Tehran, Iran. In the summer of 1984 his family migrated to West Germany settling in the city of Bayreuth in Bavaria. On Thanksgiving of 1986 they migrated to the U.S. settling in the Central Valley Region of California near the city of San Francisco.

In early 2012 the artist was diagnosed with a rare type of Neuroendocrine cancer and lost his 2 year long battle to the disease on September 20, 2015 at the age of 32.

During the time of his illness Papyrus began writing, producing and recording his own music inside his bedroom studio that he managed to put together himself about a year before. In early 2012 he was able to release 2 bodies of work: Papyrus: A Feast For All Centuries (official debut album) and Origami Ghost Army: The Paper Cut (ep) (featuring producer Poison Flowerz). The 3rd body of work: Papyrus: The Quiet Harvest EP, is a collection of unreleased tracks combined and published by Papyrus' oldest brother (M.C. Minus 1 of Underground Parliament) on Bennington Vibes Recordings.

Or a man may be chastened on a bed of pain with constant distress in his bones, so that his very being finds food repulsive and his soul loathes the choicest meal. His flesh wastes away to nothing, and his bones, once hidden, now stick out. His soul draws near to the pit, an his life to the messengers of death. Yet if there is an angel on his side as a mediator, one out of a thousand, to tell man what is right for him, to be gracious to him and say, 'Spare him from going down the pit; I have found a ransom for him' - then his flesh is renewed like a child's; it is restored as in the days of his youth. He prays to God and finds favor with him, he sees God's face and shouts for joy; he is restored by God to his righteous state. - Job 33:19-26
